Back to the Basics of Bipolar

Not written by me from a social media/support group It stays along the same lines of what I have been writing about

Hey if you ever need to talk I understand. it is typical to be diagnosed 'Unipolar' depressed instead of bipolar. anti-deppresion meds are always the sign. They kick a unipolar into mania and voila bipolar!
But you may just be bipolar II(bp2) which is less severe. You have to have a psychotic episode to graduate to bp 1..I thought I was writing a new chapter of the bible, words fast and furious and sluring and no sleep for two weeks...in psych ward for 2 weeks. Manage it well and you can still have a good life. I am an entertainer who had a tv segment/interview and has been booked for my city to headline a huge Canada Day Festival. I love my creativity (hypo mania...productive, lots of great ideas..."my happy spot"...always manage to stay in this safe "middle not crazy zone"), eat well, exercise, sleep is a biggie. the less sleep you have the more you can ramp up into mania! and peer support or psychotherapy is huge. therapists rock. I am vice chairman of a mood disorder group and a peer support facillitator for up to ten bp folks every monday. I tell no one but a few trusted friends of my bp. You are young and smart and resilient. You can recover faster. I got diagnosed at 28...so it was a longer battle. message me if you ever need some help. and have a good honest relationship with your pdoc (psychiatrist)! The right med cocktail will fix 60% of this illness. Rooting for you (((clap))
