At Risk People Who Suffer From Depression

Ketamine which is a Recreational Drug on the streets but could be the answer to treating even seemingly untreatable cases of depression, according to researchers. It is also used as an anesthesia for people adults and children. It  is also used as a sedative for people who are in the emergency room when for people experiencing extreme excitability. Most antidepressants take several weeks to have an effect on a person’s depressive state but patients with treatment-resistant depression experienced a improvement in their mood after being treated with ketamine infusions over done for several weeks.research  ketamine’s rapid antidepressant effects has encouraged some doctors to prescribe the drug for their severely depressed, suicidal, and hospice patients, with seemingly good results.

Within three days after the last treatment, the depression in 29 percent of the patients showed significant improvement. Some of those that responded to the treatment had lived with depression for 20 years. This is dramatic change of life for the people who were treated. Ketamine is a drug known on the street as Special K or simply K  but may prove to be an effective treatment for depression in the medical field.

Several studies conducted in the past indicate that ketamine could treat major depression effectively and quickly in patients who are resistant to popular antidepressants.
Researchers have found that 64 percent of patients who had been treated with ketamine had fewer depression symptoms. Ketamines ability to relieve depression is a possible step forward in the search for better treatments.

Ketamine is used as an anesthetic for both humans and animals, but it is an anesthetic with hallucinogenic properties. Users say that taken at high enough doses, it can give a person a terrifying out of body experience known  as a K-hole. Ketamine is also known to cause anxiety, amnesia and cognitive difficulties.

Some people use Ketamine as a self medicating substance , however it is typically given in the medical field only in small doses and patients are supervised closely but even then, some patients have been known to exhibit very unpleasant side effects. Researchers believe it is reasonable and appropriate for doctors who want to prescribe Ketamine they should to do so, for their patients.who suffered from severe treatment resistant depression. There are people who are going to die every day from lack of something that will help their depression.
